Project Overview
SME Group supplied a 120,000 TPA Continuous Galvanizing Line (GI/GL) for a cold-rolled steel processing plant in Africa. The production line is designed to manufacture high-quality hot-dip galvanized (GI) and galvalume (GL) steel coils for applications in construction, home appliances, roofing, and general manufacturing.
The line processes steel strip with widths from 650–1,250 mm and thicknesses from 0.15–1.0 mm, operating at a maximum line speed of 120 m/min. Product quality is designed to comply with JIS G3302 (GI) and JIS G3321 (GL) standards.

- Electrically heated zinc/aluminum-zinc pots for stable bath temperature, lower dross generation, and longer service life

- Passivation and anti-fingerprint treatment available to enhance corrosion resistance and product appearance
- Future-ready design allowing upgrade to ZAM (Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium)coating production

Coil Loading → Uncoiling → End Shearing → Welding → Entry Looper → Cleaning & Degreasing → Annealing & Reduction → Hot-Dip Galvanizing / Galvalume Coating → Air Cooling → Water Quenching → Hot Air Drying → Surface Treatment → Tension Leveling → Passivation / Anti-Fingerprint Treatment → Exit Looper → Inspection → Recoiling → Packing
