Steel Strip Line Cooling Modes

Steel Strip Line Cooling Mode

In strip steel line most popular cooling mode is laminar cooling.

Pressure injection cooling is characterised by continuous jetting of water, good directionality cooling efficiency is not high, serious spattering, there is high requirements to water quality.

Aerosol cooling with gas will be atomised water, its cooling capacity is very strong, uniform. Need gas, water two sets of devices, there is noise and corrosive, applied to continuous casting.

Spray cooling in the form of droplet group cooling, it has strong cooling capacity, and requires good quality of water, the cooling speed may be adjusted in a small range.

Water – gas spray cooling can be cooled on the edge of the plate to compensate, this cooling mode is uneven and applied to ultra-thick plates.

Direct quenching mode is big cooling capacity and uneven cooling, applied to high-strength plates.

Laminar cooling water flow to maintain the laminar flow state, cooling capacity, cooling distance is long, large equipment, high water quality requirements. The use of laminar flow cooling system can be based on the strip steel type, specifications, temperature, speed and other process parameters of the changes in the cooling of the physical model of the preset, and to adapt to the model update, so as to control the opening and closing of the cooling collector tube, adjusting the amount of cooling water, to achieve the precise control of the cooling temperature of the strip steel.
