On Jun. 16th, 2025, Shanghai Metallurgy Equipment Group (SME Group) held the grand opening ceremony of its new regional office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This milestone marks a new chapter in SME Group’s long-term commitment to the African market, especially in supporting the metallurgical and steel industries across the continent.
The ceremony was attended by former distinguished clients, industry partners, and SME Group’s senior management team. Highlights included the ribbon-cutting and SME logo unveiling. In a symbolic gesture, Ethiopian tradition was honored through the laying of fresh ketema grass, signifying blessings and prosperity for the new office.
