Iron Ore Standards: Chromium Content Analysis Update

Iron Ore International Standard Revisions

Recently, an international standardㄗIron ores — Determination of chromium content — Flame atomic absorption spectrometric method) in the field of chemical analysis of iron ore led by China has been officially approved for the establishment of the project (ISO/AWI 15634) by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

This international standard proposal was revised by the experts of Anshan Iron & Steel Company Limited  and Metallurgical Industry Information Standard Research Institute as the project leader, and by the experts of Anshan Iron & Steel as the convenor of the working group, and by the experts of the relevant units at home and abroad, with the support and participation of the experts from Germany, Japan, Iran and other countries.

The analytical range of chromium in the current ISO15634-2015 is 0.0016% to 0.1%, and the upper limit of the revised standard for determining the chromium content in iron ore is increased to 2.0%.
