Insulated Vacuum Tundish

A new type of tundish adopts a double shell inclusion and cover with vacuum insulation function, and is supplemented by anti-oxidation coating heat insulation technology and permanent layer castable with low thermal conductivity.

The original intention of its research and development is to use the principle of vacuum insulation to reduce the heat dissipation of the tundish in the pouring process, increase the insulation effect of the tundish, and then reduce the steel temperature, save the energy consumption and material consumption in the steelmaking process, and achieve the goal of low superheat constant temperature pouring, so as to achieve the purpose of environmental protection, energy saving and stable production. Due to the low thermal conductivity of the vacuum cladding, the anti-oxidation coating and thermal insulation castable further reduce the thermal conductivity of the inclusion resistant material, thus achieving significant effects such as reducing the temperature drop during continuous casting and reducing the temperature of the intermediate shell and cladding.

At present, the technology has been verified in industrialization in a large steel mill. Compared with the traditional tundish of the same type, the new vacuum tundish can reduce the wall temperature of the tundish by more than 50⊥, the cover temperature by more than 100⊥, and the cover life by more than 50% under the condition of continuous pouring 7 furnaces. Test record show that the surface temperature measurement results are that the main temperature measurement points such as the large surface, the impact area, the impact area corner, and the bottom of the bag are all < 200℃.

Similarly, the technology has been tested in a steel mill for 48 hours, 72 hours, 96 hours continuous casting steel industrialization verification. Field production and application practice shows that: Under the conditions of continuous pouring for 48 hours, 72 hours and 96 hours, the wall temperature of the tundish is reduced by more than 80℃, the cover temperature is reduced by more than 120℃, the cover life is increased by more than 50%, and the average horizontal temperature drop of the tundish steel is reduced by more than 4.5℃, which provides a solution for reducing the temperature drop and can reduce the energy consumption.
