Blast Furnace Materials System Facilities

Blast Furnace Materials System

The public and auxiliary facilities of blast furnace ironmaking mainly includes storage and transportation of raw materials and fuel facilities, thermal facilities, gas facilities, water supply and drainage facilities and HVAC facilities. At project preliminary design, the storage and transportation facilities for raw materials and fuel are divided five sectors.

  1. Sinter ore, pellet ore, lump ore, miscellaneous ore and coke required for blast furnace production are transported from sintering plant, raw material yard, coking plant (or transfer station) to the ore storage tank and coke storage tank of blast furnace by belt conveyor. The trough is generally unloaded by environmentally friendly heavy-duty unloading trolleys, which are interchangeable and can be unloaded at the same time. Unloading car unloading holes throughout the sealing, unloading car can be both sides of the unloading.
  2. Ore return includes sinter ore and pellet ore return, which is transported to the sinter plant or raw material yard or the corresponding transfer station from the ore return bin under the blast furnace chute through the belt.
  3. Returned coke/coke powder is transported from the coke powder bin under the blast furnace tank to the sintering plant or raw material yard or the corresponding transfer station by belt.
  4. Water slag is transported from the blast furnace water slag silo or temporary yard to the water slag micronized powder workshop or the slag dumping site for the whole plant by belt.
  5. Raw coal for blowing is transported from the raw material yard according to the requirements of blast furnace to the powder making system of blast furnace coal spraying workshop by belt after coal blending.

A centralized operation room is set up according to the unified consideration of the site, and the system is equipped with automatic control, centralized manual and machine-side manual; it has the functions of starting, stopping, emergency stopping and unloading control, etc. The centralized control room is configurated communication facilities such as automatic and dispatching telephones and wired intercom switchboards, which are used for the communication between the control room and the main operation rooms, dispatching rooms and transfer stations. In addition to the water slag system, all the transfer points on the belt are equipped with air extraction and dust removal facilities. Safety protection devices such as deflection switches are provided along the belt, sound and light alarm signals are issued by each system before start-up, and emergency stop switches are provided for each equipment in case of accidents.
